Petrovietnam attends 42nd ASCOPE Meeting and 82nd ASCOPE National Committee Meeting

From 07th to 08th September 2016, Petrovietnam President & CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son attended the 42nd ASCOPE (ASEAN Council on Petroleum) Meeting and the 82nd ASCOPE National Committee Meeting in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The meetings were chaired and organized by the ASCOPE Secretariat and the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Cambodia. Attending the meetings were members of ASCOPE and Chairmen of ASCOPE National Committee from 10 member countries.
The ASCOPE members at the Meeting
At the meetings, ASCOPE member countries reviewed and approved ASCOPE Secretary General’s report on the financial statements of 2016 and plan for 2017 and related proposals, activity reports of 7 Sub-committees: Petroleum Exploration, Processing and Refining, Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipelines, ASEAN Gas Consultants Council, Commerce and Marketing, Technologies and Services, Safety and Environment.
Chairmen of ASCOPE National Committee at the Meeting
The National Oil Companies’ leaders from ASCOPE member countries updated, shared information on their company’s business activities as well as plans and cooperation projects in the coming time. They also discussed to jointly review and propose adjustment for appropriate actions of ASCOPE in order to strengthen the regional linkage in consistent with the principles and purposes of ASEAN as well as the interests of the member countries in the current period.

At the bilateral meetings with the national oil companies’ leaders of ASCOPE, PetrovietnamPresident & CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son discussed about the solutions to promote the existing projects, new cooperation orientation and negotiation for the jointly cooperative projects in the overlapping areas with Malaysia and Indonesia in order to maintain and develop the relationship between Petrovietnamand ASCOPE member countries in general and with Cambodia in particular, contribute to building peaceful, stable and prosperous ASEAN Community. |
